@electroguitar7 you know there's an idiom we say in Arabic _ i don't know if it has a counterpart in English or not _ which means " you have been a milestone in my way to ....."

@Hamza_Shreef I think you would be understood, but no, it doesn't sound very natural. we never use the word milestone to refer to people.
I can't think of any similar expression in English besides the one I already gave. I think most people would speak literally in this case. but maybe another commenter will think of an idiom that I can't remember at the moment😅
