@AvavaAva612 It doesn't matter to me that its' from a book. It doesn't make sense. What is it even talking about. Who is or what is Lacan?. What is a second-order real? I'm just trying to help you. Can you copy more of the context so I could perhaps understand better?

@HebrewDane thank you! Lacan is French philosopher and the “real” is a term of his. But I don’t think they are important, because my question is what “is of precisely that nature” means. Is it a structure of emphasis sentence? I haven’t seen the structure of “be+of+adv.+that” before. Hopefully I have made my question more clearly.

@AvavaAva612 I looked it up to understand what he means by "real" and that helped a bit. Now, as for your emphasis sentence. I am not sure what you mean by that. You can emphasize something in a sentence but as for a special sentence that is called an "emphasis sentence" it's new to me.
Anyway saying something "is of precisely that nature" just means that it's exactly that nature or it's a perfect example of it, etc. It's just how this sentence is constructed. I'd say it's not all that common but it's used perhaps more in technical or educational writing? More formal? Probably not something you'd hear in daily speech.

@HebrewDane thank you! really help me a lot!!! Btw, what are the sentences with the structure of “it is ... that .... ”(e.g. It is you that break the glass!”) called in English? In Chinese teaching it will be called “emphasis sentence” because it emphasize “you” in the sentence. What’s the English name of this kind of sentences ?
