generally, an introvert is a person who prefers to spend time alone and loses energy from being with others.
generally, an extrovert is a person who prefers to spend time with others and gains energy from being with others.
these words are unrelated to the word "clique" to my understanding.

@cana_dock a clique is an exclusive group of friends, people who are willing to be friends only will certain people.
a nerd or a geek is someone who likes to study. they may be introverted or extroverted.

@cana_dock I think it's the same connotation here in the US, that nerds are introverted. but it might just be that there are not very many nerds and so nerds have trouble making friends. but extrovert/introvert is not officially part of the definition for nerd/geek.
