Imagine a Moscowite talking to a Vladivostokite in Russian. That's it. Some words are different, but both languages are just the same.
Of course, it's very easy to understand.

@s2823607 okay it's just that I heard somewhere that it's kinda impossible to understand

When it comes to the accent, other than some regions, for example Gaeseong city, which are geographically close to South Korea, North Koreans living in other regions have their own unique strong accent which is easily noticeable by South Korean people. And there are some differences in some vocabulary and expressions. North Koreans use some vocabulary and expressions that are not used in South Korea. However, we have no problem at all to understand North Korean since North Korean people also use Korean.
What about Russia? I heard somewhere that there is no dialect in Russia. Is this true?

@hanguk_in I mean there are dialects. But in my opinion still a lot of people talk the same way. The so called standard Russian accent. Usually those dialects are easily understood unless it's some very remote villages where people had really few connections with the so-called civilized world of cities : there it's going to be a different story I'll barely understand those, even grammar there can partly differ from the standard language from time to time.

I agree with the person above who said that the North Koreans living near South Korea don't have a typical strong North Korean accent. There was a North Korean soldier named 'Oh, Cheong-seong' who escaped to South Korea 5 years ago. He's from Gaeseong. I saw him talking on a TV show and he didn't have the North Korean accent that South Korean people know.
