I have studied Japanese 1.5 years ~4-6 hours a day through a combination of:
self study: grammar books, practice workbooks, audio book of 2000 most used Japanese words
I watch daily content from Japanese teachers on Instagram and YouTube
immersion listening: Japanese language movies, podcasts
Daily use of apps: Duolingo, WaniKani, HiNative, some various katakana and hiragana learning apps
writing a daily Japanese diary
Last 2 months I added class with a native Japanese teacher 2x a week using the Genki book.
I would say it is difficult to learn Japanese because it is a lot to cover before it feels like any communication is happening.
I had to learn to read and write hiragana and katakana and hundreds of kanji, study vocabulary and grammar and it took about 1 year before I could express myself in even a simple conversation, which is why I wanted to learn a language in the first place!
The thing I wish had more help with was a bilingual person who would talk to me in Japanese and could explain things I didnāt understand in English.

@Sterra-5 It is slow and difficult to translate what I want to say into Japanese in my head and then say it. Iām much more comfortable texting.

How did they get in touch with you?
Didn't they use Japanese?
I see.

me?haha.well..Where did you know it?š
Did you see my profile?
yes. I have acquired many languages.
I choose an intensive French course at university, so I write it and speak every day, even if I don't want to use it.(Well, it's a joke. But even when I'm tired.ahaha.)
Well, in other words, the teaching materials are fully prepared.
And because my best friend speaks Russian, it became easier for me to chat.
But I'm still immature to speak in this language.
I need someone who speaks Russian and Japanese.

@Sterra-5 oh sorry that was confusing. I take online classes from a school in Japan. The class was coordinated via email with the director of the school who speaks English. The person who teaches my
lessons is a native Japanese person who teaches in Japanese only.

@Sterra-5 I agree an intensive is really good for learning because you have to! I have Japanese friends who are learning English and we help each other. Thatās been the most fun part of learning so far!

ok.thanksāŗļø
Are there few opportunities to talk in Japanese with teachers and friends?
And When you speak Japanese, are you worried about "you think about what you say when someone asks you a question in Japanese" or "pronunciation in Japanese"?
OHšTHAT'S A GOOD REASON.
Please comeeee.

@tefu-tefu_chan5 You are correct! When someone asks me a question I usually understand. It is very difficult to construct a good answer using my limited Japanese. I feel worried and anxious because I am very slow to answer.
I donāt have a lot of trouble with pronunciation, when I can think of something to say, people understand me.
Thanks for liking my reason! I really look forward to coming to Japan some day. Until then, Iāll study hard!

Yes, yes, I'm also nervous about talking in languages āāother than Japaneseš
By the way, do you like talking to people?
(Oh, You can use any language.)
And I want to know more about your Japanese teacher.
What do you and they talk about in Japanese?
Or do they just teach you Japanese grammar?

@tefu-tefu_chan5
Q: Do you like talking to people
A: Oh this is an interesting question! I like talking to my friends, and I am not shy about talking to strangers. I donāt like āsmall talkā which is talking about the weather, what I ate today, how many people in my family and so on. I want to talk about books, and art and travel. Unfortunately for me, the way Japanese is taught we only learn the words you use for āsmall talk.ā
Q: What do I talk about with my Japanese teacher?
A: The class is a combination of activities. She always starts with some open conversation, asking me some questions that I answer (itās always āsmall talkā about the weather, what I did last weekend, etc). Then we do a grammar lesson on a subject. She shows an example and then I do some activities out loud while she corrects me when I am wrong. Sometimes she uses vocabulary I donāt know. I wish that we had a way to review the vocabulary that will be in the lesson at the start of the class so I donāt get distracted by that. I also wish I could learn the point of grammar by myself with reading and a worksheet before the class so during class we could focus on listening and speaking with the teacher.
Thanks! Your questions helped me identify what is frustrating about learning Japanese. Youāre a good interviewer!

Well, in fact, this homework was about asking the learners what they were naturally worried about.š
Thanks to you, I think I can make a good report.:)
Can you tell me your birthplace and your name? Oh, if you don't like to say it, you can use a pseudonym.š

sorry. I made one mistakeš
The Japanese language class is a story of the past.
But why don't you try talking to your Japanese friends?
I think talking about your favorite topics with fun friends is the most relaxing way for you.šš
What do you think?Would you like to try this?
What about an app that allows you to talk to foreigners?
Well, it's dangerous depending on the app, but you can talk with your friends and me there.
In addition, I saw your Instagram:)
And there were many beautiful flower paintings and bonsai!
Super beautiful!!I like flowers and drawing pictures, so I was very impressed( źį“ź)āØ
