Is there a way to classify objects’ gender as masculine,feminine and neuter?

You can use the following tip as a guide, but it doesn't work for 100% since there are some exceptions.

*nouns ending with -a, -я mostly have feminine gender:
весна, песня, война, армия
Also nouns ending with -чь, -шь have feminine gender:
ночь, дочь, чушь, тушь

*nouns ending with -о, -е, -э mostly have neuter gender:
окно, дерево, море, мнение, впечатление, алоэ
NB: время, пламя, племя also have neuter gender although end with -я

*nouns ending with consonant mostly have masculine gender:
стол, потолок, замок...
NB: папа, дядя also have masculine gender although end with -а, -я
