My question is : can a person be humble in some situations? It has a positive connotation in general. But can it mean that a person underestimates his talents and importance?

I came across the sentence :

I felt very humble when meeting her.

Could you think of any word that means ‘’humble to a fault’’? When the person denies his/her potential or importance despite being told otherwise.

Like, for example, in this sentence :

I can be ____ in new surroundings.
