the latter is less formal. But, I have to go is informal too.

@Eiji_Japan_55 This uses a concept in English grammar called contractions where you shorten words to speak faster. This is extremely common!
"I've gotta go." is the shortened version of "I have got to go."
"I have got to go." is a more informal phrase than "I have to go." like the person above said.
In spoken English so many words are shortened such as don't, can't should've, it's, and some of them have different meanings. I highly reccomend you learn this concept as it is very important for understanding more spoken and advanced English. Good luck with your learnings!!
