📌 Do you sense any drought in Europe?! 📌
These days we sometimes hear on the news about high heat and even drought in Europe! Although experiencing a 40°C temperature in a cold region like UK is somehow strange, but talking about drought in a continent like Europe which we've always called it a rainy and green continent, seems unreal and a kind of exaggeration!
So, do you, as a usual European citizen and not a scientist or governor, really and personally sense drought in Europe, in the UK, France, Germany, etc.?

Yes, in the French mountains there has been a lot less rain this summer - the rivers have dried up

@hamid_azr I would definitely say the public is concerned ; this is the hottest summer i’ve ever had in the mountains

@hamid_azr Our area of the U.K. is in a state of drought, we have a ban from using hosepipes and are encouraged to use less tap water. The grass is all scorched brown everywhere, there have been wildfires and the heat is torture (we don’t have any aircon here). I have heard that a lot of crops are failing from the heat too so some foods will be hard to get hold of or even more expensive.
The U.K. is generally such a wet country that we are used to being able to use as much water as we want - I believe that we have one of the highest usages per capita globally, so a drought for us is a bit different than places that are usually dry already.
