スキーに行きます。 と
スキーしに行きます。
は両方正解です。
スキー⛷は動作が伴うので、スキーする→スキーしに
が使えます。
話し手が 旅行する という行動を意識した場合は、
旅行しに行く と言う表現になります。
普通は、旅行 と言う動作を考えない名詞形で考えるためでしょう。
