*أستاذ بنفس المعني وتستخدم أيضا للاحترام ، لكنها ليست كلمة عربية في الأصل
not originally an Arabic word (Arabized one).
I think it's Farsi.
Also used for respect to address others/ and to mean that someone is highly skilled in a specific field.
* معلم ومدرس
are almost the same but مدرس is confined to one who teaches in an educational institution (mainly).
and معلم is generally used for any sort of teaching in any aspect.
for example
كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم خير معلم للبشرية
(prophet Muhammad was the best teacher for mankind).
--you can't say مدرس here.
* also in university degrees,
professor= أستاذ
lecturer/assistant professor= مدرس
