"Monologue" is very natural. Soliloquy is more like something we hear in English literature classes.
"Lecture", "Address", "Speech"
Are you asking about how to pronounce it or just how to use it?

@SelfSimilarJosh I was asking what’s the easiest version of it since it looked a bit too formal, anyway thanks for letting me know and your extra recording :)
- English (US)
@yolk79 It might be formal, but speeches are usually formal, right? If someone ever calls your speech a monologue, and it's not because you are giving a speech, then it's a way of comparing you to giving a speech.

@SelfSimilarJosh @newenglandgenie How about in daily life? For example, Tom talks to himself like “I’m hungry.” and do we also call it “monologue”? If not,I would like to know the name of the action as a noun form. “I’m hungry” is not speech so..
- English (US)
@yolk79 Ah, great question. You can just use the noun, " a saying".
"I couldn't hear what he said."
"His saying was too quiet to hear."
"He was talking to himself, I couldn't hear what he said."
"Tom said aloud to himself that he was hungry."
"I'm hungry", Tom said aloud to himself.
