싫어하다 means just hate someone or something.
저는 담배를 싫어해요. ( 그냥 싫어요)
혐오하다 means more dramatic way than 싫어하다. It's disgust.
저는 담배를 혐오해요. (담배 냄새도 싫고, 담배피는 사람들도 싫고, 바닥에 버려진 담배꽁초들도 너무 싫어서 혐오해요. 담배는 그냥 사라졌으면 좋겠어요)
