Question about Czech
What is the difference between ohledně and vzhledem ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.
What is the difference between ohledně and vzhledem ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.
For example, "dotaz OHLEDNĚ způsobu vyplnění",
is it fine to say "dotaz VZHLEDEM způsobu vyplnění"?
Also is there any difference between "vzhledem" & "vzhledem K"?
I feel like in articles and in examples sentences in dictionaries, it's quite common to see "K", but it seems like people don't really use it while speaking, so I'm not sure if they have the same meaning? 🤔

@Hao-Hsien they're not interchangeable.
Ohledně means regarding, and just indicates you're going to talk about the thing, or that you're going to add some info regarding that thing.
It's usually used when you're talking about something and then suddenly, you want to change the topic, you use ohledně [the topic your changing to] to indicate you're no longer talking about the same thing.
Vzhledem means considering, and it indicates that because something has happened or is happening, the things are turning out this way.
Ex. Přežil jsem útok na svůj život. A ohledně zásob ropy na tom jsem stále dobře. (I've survived an attack to my life. And regarding the oil supplies, I'm still good.) Here, ohledně is used to indicate he's no longer talking about the attack, but about something else. Maybe he changed the topic because the attack on him was because of his oil supplies, so by adding that sentence, he didn't say anything off, but still he started talking about something seemingly unrelated, so it was good to add ohledně to indicate it's a different matter.
Ex. Vzhledem k tomu, že nám došli zásoby ropy, tak budu pravděpodobně častým cílem nájemných vrahů, kteří se budou snažit ropu vymáhat. (Regarding the fact our oil supplies have run out, I'll probably be a likely target of assassins that will be trying to get the oil.) Here, he's saying that because his oil supplies are depleted, he might be a target of assassination. Vzhledem basically means protože (because) said in a fancy way.
I hope it helped

I would personally never say vzhledem without the k. It might be some local dialect of where you were.
