@Lucas_20 and in this sentence （我和汉语的缘分是从大学开始的。因为我决定学好汉语，然后去中国找一份好工作。）why is there a dot after 的 as the end of the thought? Is a comma inappropriate here?

@ayanami_ray 我远程学习中文 in that context sounds unnatural. 我有远程学习中文 does sound natural, but only 我有在远程学习中文 can mean you are learning Chinese remotely at present and you will probably continue doing so in the future.

The period 。is used when you finish giving your point in one sentence. 我和汉语的缘分是从大学开始的 is a full sentence; this sentence and the sentence after it don’t share the same point. That’s why I used the period there.

@ayanami_ray That said though, if you used a comma to replace the period in that sentence on the internet, no one would say you’re incorrect. Because in daily life, in daily internet contact, most people don’t care about those punctuation mistakes.
