Question about English (US)

Please correct my answer to make it natural and appropriate.
*This question is TOEFL(Test of English as a Foreign Language)'s speaking test.

Q:
Some college students choose to take courses in a variety of subject areas in order to get a broad education. Others choose to focus on a single subject area in order to have a deeper understanding of that area. Which approach to course selection do you think is better for students and why?

A:
I think the students choose to take courses in a variety of subject areas are better. Most college students are majoring a certain subject, but few students can predict their occupation after graduation. They should study a lot of areas apart from their majoring except for people who can precisely expect their future. So, no matter how much knowledge they will get, they can have it too much. Also, the knowledge apart from the major subject often helps the major one.
