That's partially up to preference. I would say no - HiNative is a casual platform and there's no need to be overly formal. I have seen a few Germans use "Sie" on here, but the majority doesn't.
In general it is more appropriate to use "Sie" depending on the context and the nature of the website/platform. For political discussions on news sites like Tagesschau or Spiegel, you would find more people using a formal form of address.
