Question about English (US)

Does this sound natural?

I prefer to simply look at exhibits because I don't have a camera. You see, as a student with no income, I have a tight budget. However, cameras are expensive. For example, last year, my friend, Bill, bought a camera that cost about two thousand dollars. I can't afford them.

Besides, taking pictures can be distracting. I remember when I was in high school, my teacher often took us to art galleries and didn't allow us to take pictures, so we could focus on exhibits themselves and learn about them.
That's why I don't take pictures when visiting museums.

Thank you!✨✨
