Question about English (US)

Can I use "them" to refer to "cameras"?

I prefer to simply look at exhibits because I don't have a camera. You see, as a student with no income, I have a tight budget. However, cameras are expensive. For example, last year, my friend, Bill, bought a camera that cost about two thousand dollars. I can't afford【them】.

Thank you!✨✨
