Question about Korean
When the last consonant is ㅅ, ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅎ etc it's read as ㄷ, but what if the next syllabe starts with ㅇ, does that final consonant technically replace it then, hence it's read the way it's written?

you got it right :)
씻어 => [씨서] / 했어 => [해써]
낮아 => [나자] / 짖어 => [지저]
쫓아 => [쪼차]
but not in the case of ㅎ, which is omitted
닿아 => [다아] / 낳아 => [나아]

not always....
if its compound-word, or its followed by affix that starts with 'ㅇ', they are read differently. Though its hard to explain the whole grammatic rule here.
ex) 굳이 [구지], 밭이랑 [반니랑]
- English (US)
- Filipino
- Korean
@wrongpassword when its noun '밭' + postposition '이랑', its is pronounced [바치랑].
but when its noun '밭' + noun '이랑', which makes a compound-word '밭이랑', then it should sound [반니랑].
both case are written '밭이랑', though they are pronounced differently as [바치랑] or [반니랑]
