Question about English (US)

If my husband is home, I can borrow his bike.
But if he wasn't home, I wouldn't be able to borrow it.

(later)

He wasn't home, so I couldn't borrow it.
If he had been at home, I could have borrow it.

Is this right? This grammar is hard for me.
