「地雷を踏む」
相手にとって不快な発言をしてしまったり、行動をとってしまうことによって無自覚に相手を傷つけたり、不快な思いをさせてしまうという比喩表現です。
平たく言えば、「失言をしてしまう」ことですね。
どんな人でも相手のことが完全にわかるわけではないので、地面に埋まって見えない地雷を踏んでしまう。ということだと思います
