I would say they have exactly the same meaning.
How can mean "in what exact manner", such as "I don't like how he painted the house", which could mean that you thought it was badly painted, or you don't like the colour. But, it is also a casual way of saying that it occurs. For example, I don't like how he is always late. Here it simply means that he is always late.
