Si on les utilise pour exprimer "essaiyer" je considère qu'ils ont la même signitication, alors que "tratar de" peut aussi signifier "traiter (qqn) d'une façon" (Trátame de tú, no hace falta que me hables de usted). Et la troisième signification serait: "il s'agit de" (Se trata de un libro sobre filosofía francesa).
