it's kind of a slang word young people often use. I use it everytime. It generally can be regarded as "wow" in english but it has greater spectrum of meaning. here are some examples of using it.
* sees a beautiful girl* daaamii!
*sees something mind-blowing* dami!
*motivates his friend* dami! dami! keep it up, you can do this.
some similar slangs are khatra ( literally dangerous) and sahi ho ( literally it's correct.) you can usually replace dami by these two. And, youngsters like us use it everytime. ;-)

@dhungananischal76 Thank you for the nice explanation. Oh, it's a kind of slang? Maybe that's why I couldn't find it in a dictionary. Sounds like you use it as an adjective. Can I say "dami cha" when I see a nice photo?

@ChronicProcrastinato Yeah, Nepali अ doesn't exist in Japanese so we don't distinguish अ and आ . I can't differenciate them well by listening😭 In short, Nepali is rich in sounds.
