“Coach” is to teach someone how to do a skill or a set of actions. When you teach someone to exercise or play a sport you are coaching them. If you are teaching somebody emotional skills you are coaching them.
“Instruct” is a more formal way to say “teach.”
“Guide” is like teaching, but lighter in nuance. If you guide someone, you are helping them along the way but not explicitly telling them what to do.
“Tutor” is like coaching but with academic subjects. It’s commonly used to call extra learning or study for a subject that you aren’t doing well at. “Math tutoring,” “English tutoring,” are all terms you might here. It gives the impression of one-on-one learning vs. a classroom.
