Oh that's an interesting question. I think it has to do with the product. We tend to view men as more authoritative (yay sexism) so I would imagine male voice overs would be more common for most products to make it sound more convincing and authoritative. However adds for make up and fashion have almost exclusively female voice overs to better connect with the female target demographic.
Is it different for commercial in different languages? I live in Japan and now that I think about it I think most of the voice overs on ads I hear are for women, but that might just because I'm a woman and the algorithm is sending me mostly ads targeted towards women

Male voices are more stronger so it makes it sound more relatable.

@mrggy @nikki_lover Yes, I think it’s more common to use male voice-overs in the English world than in Asian countries. Of course in Asia, male voice-overs are also common, but not as common as they are in English speaking countries. I myself don’t know why, so I was thinking your opinions would possibly enlighten me. Thank you both!
