The weather is becoming more and more extreme. In winter, the temperature is reaching 0 degrees Celsius, which has never happened before.
Why is the word, degrees, plural and not singular? In English, we truly do not have singular and plural nouns like other European languages. English used to have three counts: one of, two of and not one of. The two of, has dropped from the language- leaving one of and not one of. If you add a letter, s or es, to an English noun, it doesn't mean that it's plural. It means that the noun is not singular.
Examples: You have -$ (said dollars or pesos) 20.00 in your account. (Don't miss the negative sign before the dollar / peso sign.)
