It's a little unnatural. This is better:
You are not likely to pass the exam, judging by the work you are doing right now.

@ImRitesh I changed it to "judging by" because I think it is a better phrase in this sentence, but "going by" is okay too. I easily understood it.
As for good uses of "going by," I will have to think about that. It is a good phrase, and pretty commonly used, but I can't think of any good examples right now.
