@Elllie_pu Thank you! Then how do you interpret the meaning of “got” in this sentence? Does it mean “convinced” or “demanded”?
I got him to rub my shoulders.
I got him to rub my shoulders.

#1 is correct
The phrase is “get someone to do something”
I got my brother to do my homework for me even though I know it’s wrong.

For the most part, correct
There are a some instances where you can say
She got me thinking about that
which is different from
She got me to think about that
I got my father talking about the war.

@newenglandgenie Ah, but these two sentences contain “get someone doing something”. They are still correct and natural?
1. She got me thinking about…
2. I got my father talking about the war.
1. She got me thinking about…
2. I got my father talking about the war.

@studiousboy Yes, they’re correct and are different from She got me to think…But you still can’t say I got him rubbing my shoulders. It’s meaningless.

There are ways it can be grammatical, but they are specific, like if something happens while the other action is happening.
"Once I got him rubbing my shoulders, he was distracted so he didn't notice when Jane snuck up behind him."

In my sentence, the progressive form "rubbing" is more natural because I am talking about something else happing during a continuous action.
If you use the infinitive "to rub," then it is unclear if he is still rubbing or not.
