"경기" is similar to "game" and "match".
축구 경기가 진행 중이다.
야구 경기를 보러 간다.
농구 경기가 시작해서 친구와의 약속을 미뤘다.

"승부" is similar to "competed","victory or defeat", it has a more combative.
A와 B가 1위를 두고 승부를 가른다.
Khabib의 마지막 펀치가 승부를 갈랐다.

you can use both 경기 and 승부, but a lot of people say 경기, In the case of sports.

The team that I support lost the game, so it wasn't a fun-filled game/match (재미있는) for me, but it wаs аn interesting gаmе (exciting and challenging)
One person said that 흥미로운 doesn't sound natural here.
Maybe is it better to write 흥미진진한 in this case?
