Long-term wise, I've seen several foreign English teachers who earn enough to make their lives wealthy and even save some money. I said "enough" because it depends on your definition of wealthiness.

You'll have some struggles initially, but I've seen many people succeed. I'm not a foreigner. I'm a Viet native. But I've been to some English learning centers for TA positions, and I've had friends (both Vietnamese and foreigners) holding different positions at English learning centers.

However, you should be aware that several places abuse money and labor and pay foreigners less than they should earn. You can look up Facebook groups/communities of foreigners in Vietnam and ask for their opinions. I've been away in the US to study abroad for 3 years now, so I don't even know what the market looks like after COVID. But I think you're gonna be okay overall.

Well, there've been ups and downs. I'm studying in Ohio, and I just hate the weather here. I'm a junior undergraduate now, so I just want to finish this, get my degree, and move to a nicer state. It's already December, and there were days when it came up as high as 80 something degrees and dropped down to 30 in the late afternoon and evening.

Study wise, everything's great, but I do miss home sometimes. I just came back to Vietnam last summer, but I just miss the Vietnamese food 😭😭😭. There aren't as many Vietnamese restaurants around my area, and their food is not authentic as well, so me and my Vietnamese friends would gather around at someone's house to cook food sometimes 🥺.

@yusaku629 haha no i get it. im in massachusetts and the cold weather is not it 🥲🥲 i’m actually sick rn. there’s def more viet ppl here though so i rly like it (even though my viet isn’t that good 😹). that’s so sweet though that you have a close group of friends. i hope to have that once i’m older 🥹

omg I can't agree more. I went to Boston to visit a friend last year in January, and the cold, the snow, and the biting wind was just 🥹🥹 (you know what I mean).

I was also thinking about moving to the East coast for my graduate school. Something like NYC, Philly, and Boston (the big cities you know) would be great.
