Hi everyone, I want to ask if "to reestablish" is active or passive? Should I say "the country reestablished" or "the country was reestablished"?

It is transitive, so it must have an object. You would say "The people reestablished the country" or maybe "the country reestablished itself."

Thanks, and what if I want to talk just about the country? I just want to say that it happened to it. Isn't there any way to make it passive?
(And as for your second example, it doesn't sound good in my language. Are you it is in yours?)
- English (US)
PASSIVE VOICE: “The country was reestablished by the people.”
Notice how sentences change when written in the passive voice.
* Active: Charles wrote this book.
* Passive: This book was written by Charles
* Active: My grandfather built our house in the 50s.
* Passive: Our house was built by my grandfather in . . .
I hope this helps. :)

Hey, thank you. I am not sure I understand your comment. I know what passive is, I am not sure if 'reestablish' is ok in passive form.
Maybe I'm missing something in your answer..
- English (US)
The passive form uses past tense (reestablished) and the preposition “by”.

But as much as I know it not necessary to use 'by'. I'll ask this instead 😅.. Can I day 'the country was reestablish 7 years ago'? Is it correct?
- English (US)
Yes, it is correct. You use “by” if you need to explain who did the action. Great example. :) 👏👏👏
