@studiousboy I'm not sure what you are trying to say.
"He went commando by not wearing any underwear underneath his deep V-neck navy blue suit."
"He was dressed-to-the-nines in a deep, V-neck, navy-blue suit."

@tekmansam I mean, typically, a shirt goes under a suit, but he didn’t wear a shirt, he wears a suit only for his upper body. How should I word the sentence?

@studiousboy So, if he has only a suit jacket on (and no shirt)...and I'm assuming he has pants....of some kind? lol. There really isn't a special word to describe this, other than "shirtless." I also don't know what your context is for writing, so it's hard to say. Is it dramatic? Are you just trying to describe someone you saw?

@tekmansam Yes, he did wear pants, just didn’t wear anything under his suit. But this is uncommon. I wanted to describe him. I’m not going to write a novel. So please tell me how I can reword my sentence to make it more understandable and natural.

@studiousboy as long as he has something on underneath his pants (underwear, i.e. boxers, briefs, jockeys, thong, diaper, something) then no.

@tekmansam Then what if he only wore a suit, no shirt, no pants, no underwear, how could I describe this?
- English (US)
@studiousboy In that case, it sounds like he is ONLY wearing a suit jacket. I would describe this man as "He was cartoonishly near-naked, wearing only a deep, V-necked, navy-blue suit jacket--and naught else."

@tekmansam Also, if I say “he was shirtlesss”, would it sound like he didn’t wear anything for his upper body? (no shirt, no suit)
