Question about English (US)
A man sent me DMs on Twitter and asked my name but I didn’t tell him because I didn’t want to. Then he said he is currently being deployed to Syria so I simply replied “stay safe” hoping he wouldn’t send me any more messages. But after a while he sent me another message: “Good Evening, my friend is that why you went to have a wound, I thought of you day and night, may God grant that you get well soon, thanks to Jesus Christ, that you are alive and that we can meet as soon as possible” Why does he think of me day and night and want to meet me? My profile picture is an animal. He doesn’t know anything about me. Is he just trying to be nice? But I have no interest in him at all!

He means that he thinks about meeting you all day and all night, he really wants to meet you. I would just block him.

@JuliaManning Thank you! But why does he want to meet a woman he doesn’t know? He doesn’t know my face, my age and my name…😂

Or eventually he will ask you to send him some money. He is trying to gain some sympathy from you, earn some trust, and convince you that he is in some sort of dire situation (being deployed to Syria) where he needs your help, and then ask you to send him some money. He just picks lots of random people and digs deeper to those who respond, so just ignore/block him.

@CrouchingBruin Thank you for your advice. I unfollowed him because blocking someone makes me feel bad. But as soon as he starts asking for money I’ll block him. I don’t have extra money for some strangers🙂

The person who wrote to you is not a native speaker of English. It is some kind of scam. Please block and forget about him.

OK! Thank you! I got two more messages from him but I ignored. It’s annoying!
