1 and 2 are basically the same. “Came up”, here, means “approached”. 3 and 4 are about the same too but 3 would be more common. Here “went up” would make more sense if you were literally traveling up. Like if you were on a lower floor or a part of the city that is lower or below the museum.

@Alexis12Zeaa #2 and 3 aren’t wrong they are all right but #1 and 4 make more sense Although if you used #2 and 3 in a sentence it would still make sense but can be a tab bit more confusing although foreigners of English would get what your trying to say. 😁😁
