It depends. Are you talking about the literal part of the mouth, or the prosthetic piece which is used in the mouth? If so, it’s fine.

If you are talking about the metaphorical palate – which has to do with the sense of taste – it’s not acceptable.

palate = (1) the roof of the mouth (2) someone's particular food preferences

"How's the palate?" is a question about the roof of someone's mouth. Is this what you mean?
