In terms of grammar, it actually is correct.
"Lit", like many other past participles, can be used as an adjective.
Example using "lit" as an adjective in a literal sense:
"Oh no. There is a lit fuse on the ground. We should stamp it out."
...It's an adjective, like "*grated* cheese" or "*frozen* yogurt".
