Question about English (US)

Hey Americans, Brit here

Is the phrase "to pick up your room" commonly used in the states? I've only just seen it and never heard it in a TV show so I thought it was a mistake but it didn't seem so.

This would never be used in the UK as we would say "tidy up your room"
