Far be it from me to say, but you should never do that.

@hhoc2000 I honestly think it's just an English expression that was from a long time ago where it would make sense, but the construction doesn't really exist anymore. If I were to guess, though, I would say that it's an old-fashioned version of the inversion of "it is far from me to say," meaning that the topic is too far from the person's area of knowledge for the person to give advice that should be listened to.
