When you read a story it can also use “dedicate” to someone??

I though it can only use when author write the book says this book is dedicate to someone.

You can dedicate anything to anybody. You can read a book and dedicate that reading to someone. You can paint a painting and dedicate it to someone. You can dedicate a building to someone upon its unveiling. All dedication is is honoring someone with someone.

You can dedicate anything to anyone. You can dedicate a song to someone. It’s not just a written work, it can be anything.

I know dedicate can be anything.

I just thought “dedicate” to be something that I do or I made?

She is a teacher and read a book for students.

So I though why she says “dedicate”?
