There isn’t a super big difference. The first emphasises the fact that she has completed a lot of work, while the second emphasises more the fact that she has had a lot for work, or been working a lot (the process of work).
The first but not the second, is something a manager would say to praise a worker who’s done a lot of work (emphasise the completed work), while both could be used to describe why a person is tired (due to a lot of work, either emphasising the continued nature of working a lot, or simply that a lot of work was done)
