I woke up because of him, for the second
and for the first
he woke me up!

@joe1888 "I was awakened by him" meaning: he woke you up, ( so he was waking you up and you as a result woke up)
" I was awakened because of him" means, that he woke you up unintentionally, ( so he didn't mean to wake you up, but you woke up anyway, so he is to blame)
the first sentence can be used in the same context as the second one, but the second can't!
