Question about English (UK)
The alarm clock went out at 7:30 like everyday. At least 5 minutes passed until I was able to sit up and stretch my arms to perk me up. I started shivering from cold when I got out of the bed, so I got dressed quickly. I was running late. If I did not hurry up, I was going to be late for the office, like always. I do not want the boss to give me a dirty look for being late again.

The alarm clock went OFF at 7:30... ,(As usual)
At least 5 minutes passed. (went by)
I DIDN'T want the boss...
Perfectly understandable, except alarm clocks go off not out.
I would say went by instead of passed.
and your tense changed from past to present in the last sentence

Is "like always" wrong?
And is "perk me up" right?
- I am in the habit of taking a cold shower to perk me up in the mornings
- You are still half asleep, aren't you? You'd better have a cup of tea to perk you up
- Perk you up! We are running late!
