It is a literal bag of frozen peas, like you buy in the grocery store for dinner. A home remedy for pain and swelling is to place the bad the injured part of your body. Because the peas are small and loose in the bag, it conforms to your body part, and the intense cold make you feel better.

I don't know what you call the vegetable peas in your language. They are small green round things that grow in pods. We have many veggies at the grocery stores that are frozen in small bags. If you have an injury that causes pain and swelling instead of using a regular ice pack they recommend holding a bag of frozen veggies on it instead. It does the same thing as an ice pack. Doesn't have to be peas necessarily though.
