"A bear is a big, dangerous animal that lives in the forest."
The second article is needed, yes. You can use both but 'the' sounds better to me, since you've already had to use 'a' twice in this sentence 🤔😉

Use "a" if your talking about any bear.
If the bear's name is Bear, no article just capitalize the B.
(You wouldn't use "the" in this sentence because you already said "...is 'a' big, dangerous...". So we know that you're not talking about a specific bear.)
Użyj „a”, jeśli mówisz o jakimkolwiek niedźwiedziu.
Jeśli niedźwiedź ma na imię Bear, żaden przedimek nie pisze się wielką literą B.
(Nie użyłbyś „the” w tym zdaniu, ponieważ już powiedziałeś „…is 'a' big, dangerous …”. Wiemy więc, że nie mówisz o konkretnym niedźwiedziu.)

That doesn't apply to articles. It is perfectly fine to use "a" more than once in a sentence.
