The difference relates to where your are currently located and where you “don’t want” to be.
Let’s say you are having a good time at the park, and you don’t want to be back at home. You would say “go” in this scenario because you “go” to somewhere else from where you are now. We are having a great time and don’t want to go back (home).
“Go” is from here to there.
“Come” is from there to here.
You would use “come” in this scenario if you were referring to returning to the park. “We are having a bad time and don’t want to come back.”
If you said this statement after returning home, you’d say “we had a bad time and don’t want to go back.”
