Somebody asks me why I have been sad and I send the following: "No it's just little things, nothing serious. Like yesterday I was hurt that you said that i couldn't come to the gathering." ?

@Greeny111 thanks! Just to make sure, " it's just little things" fit the context? I think the phrase "it's the little things" has a different meaning

@asmar001 Both of them would work just fine in this scenario. the same meaning would get across. at that point its just whatever you think would sound better.

@Greeny111 no I mean both "it's the/just little things" have different meaning (which is showing appreciation to little things), and therefore I wondered that using those phrases in a different context wouldn't sound correct.

@asmar001 yah, the phrases cannot be used interchangeably. "its the little things" would imply the little things and everything else while "Its just little things" would imply its only little things
for example. "its just little things that matter" would mean that only the little things matter and everything else doesn't. while "its the little things that matter" would imply that little things matter along with everything else.
in this context though they would both have essentially the same meaning due to surrounding context
