to my knowledge no, you cant. Can you post surrounding context? like the sentence or paragraph?

(Can you provide the full sentence?)
The only meaning I can think of would be using the word "joints" to refer to places. If you are unaware, the word 'joint' is sometimes used as a way to describe a place. For example...
There's a pizza joint down the street.
--Meaning there is a restaurant that serves pizza nearby.
I've never heard the word 'joint' refer to anything else, other than the literal meaning.

I think it was used as slang, but it's not too common.

@sashacico Ahhh! Okay, here is the problem. You are listening to the voice-over (of the thoughts in his head) *BUT* those thoughts are not directly linked to what he is looking at.
He is talking about how prices are higher in the city. Here is the dialog...
"The inflation of Hot Cheetos? 99 cents in the Bronx, nearly four freaking dollars in Tribeca. Those joints? Overpriced as fuck."
Hot Cheetos is a snack food. The Bronx is a poorer neighborhood in New York City. Tribeca is a neighborhood in a better part of town. Take the word "joints" and replace it with "stores".
Does it make more sense now? :)
PS: Random fact. Selena Gomez wears Sheertex tights/hose in this series, which are designed to never get runs. (She hated needing to change hose on set.)
