@dest1ny- It's very close to "even though", but shorter.
"Luckily, they all survived, albeit extremely traumatised."
--> "Luckily, they all survived, even though they were extremely traumatised"
-->"К счастью, все они выжили, хоть и были серьезно травмированы."
When to use it? When you want to save time. Notice how the second phrase is longer and less straight to the point than the first. "Albeit" is more direct, more strong. You can use it as much as you want, but avoid using it too much, because it becomes noticeable if you repeat a certain word when speaking. The word itself is part of those words that are very concise, and indicate a high level of vocabulary. (like "aforementioned" for example) Most less advanced natives (children, teens) don't use it that much, but adults and eloquent speakers use it significantly more. It's not a literary term, because it sounds perfectly natural, and not poetic or something, so really don't be afraid to use it.
I just checked a chat room I had with my friend over a few years (we're both teens) and out of 100'000 messages, it had only been used once.

@dest1ny-
As far as I know,
Albeit is typically used in formal writing as a conjunctive adverb and, therefore, wouldn't be used without a comma before it. Here are a few examples of albeit in sentences. Sophie is a great friend, albeit a bit of a nut. Although he earned two degrees, he's never been employed.

@Meare @youjustreadmyname appreciate your helps, guys, - and especially examples:)
@youjustreadmyname It's good to know, thank you for sharing. First, I need to grow much more used to the language so that to implement words like that in an informal speech. It'd be imprudent and absurd to use it until I'm confident in my day-to-day conversations:)
